Dr. Anthony M. Scarsella is the District's Superintendent of School and is responsible for the administration and management of the District’s schools in accordance with School Board policies and State and Federal law.
Dr. Scarsella received a Master’s Degree from Northern Illinois University in School Business Management and also holds a Master’s Degree from American University in Washington D.C. in Public Policy and Finance. He holds Bachelor’s Degrees in Education and in History from the University of Cincinnati. Dr. Scarsella received his doctorate in education administration from Northern Illinois University.
Dr. Ronald Cozza

Dr. Cozza provides instructional leadership support for the ongoing development, improvement, and evaluation of the district’s K-8 instructional programs & services. Additionally, Dr. Cozza evaluates the standardized, assessment, and other specialized testing programs for the district in congruence with district goals and Common Core Standards. Another aspect of this position includes securing and managing federally funded title grants.
Dr. Cozza received a Bachelor's Degree from Northern Illinois University, a Master's in Educational Leadership from Governors State University, and his Doctoral Degree from National-Louis University.
Justin Veihman

Mr. Veihman assists the superintendent in the daily operations of the district. He acts as the District’s Chief Financial Officer with the goal of managing, planning and assuring financial integrity for the district by providing the necessary financial, accounting and record-keeping services to facilitate the best possible educational program.
Mr. Veihman received a M.Ed in School Business Administration through Northern Illinois University. He also holds a Professional Educator's License with a School Business endorsement through the Illinois State Board of Education. He earned his MBA in Finance/Marketing at DePaul's Kellstadt Graduate School of Business, and his B.S. in Finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Erin Deval

Mrs. Erin Deval monitors programs and support services for students with specialized needs. She supervises student service personnel providing school psychological, social work, and health services and special education instruction related services such as speech, occupational and physical therapy. Mrs. Deval provides information and guidance for students, parents and faculty in Special Education, At-Risk Preschool and English Language Learners Programs.
Mrs. Deval received her Master’s Degrees from Governor State University in Multi-categorical Special Education and Education Administration. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Illinois. She also holds the Director of Special Education Endorsement from the State of Illinois.
Mrs. Deval spent 13 years of her career teaching special and general education at various grade levels. She is currently in her tenth year as Director of Student Services.
Huwaida Hamed

Ms. Huwaida Hamed plans, develops, implements and evaluates programs for English Learners at Palos School District 118. She provides resources, guidance and support to EL students, parents and staff in English Learning.
Ms. Hamed received her Master’s Degree from Concordia University in Educational Leadership. She also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Trinity Christian College with endorsements in English as a Second Language and Bilingual Education.
Ms. Hamed has been in education for 15 years. She taught in the general education classroom as well as the EL classroom.
Scott Fox

Mr. Scott Fox supervises all aspects of technology including hardware, software, data, network operations and information security for the schools of Palos School District. He is responsible for the purchasing and maintenance of technology equipment.
Mr. Fox holds a Bachelor of Science from Governor’s State University and has over 25 years experience in the technology field. Mr. Fox is currently in his twenty-second year at Palos School District 118.
Brock Stein
Director of Communications & Public Engagement

Mr. Stein is the District’s Director of Communications & Public Engagement. He oversees all aspects of the District’s external communications to the District 118 community including event photography and video, social media, and outreach to community groups and the media.
Mr. Stein received his Master’s Degree in Educational Technology from Grand Valley State University where he also earned a Bachelor’s Degree in English.
