Mr. Wrzesinski was appointed by the Board of Education as the Palos South Principal for the 2014-15 school year.

Before coming to South, he served as the principal of West for one year. He began his career in education as a math teacher, and in 2010 became an assistant principal for a middle school in Homer Glen, IL. He received his bachelor’s degree from Northern Illinois University, and his master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Concordia University.

Mr. Wrzesinski looks forward to meeting and working with all of the students, staff, and parents at Palos South Middle School. His primary goal is to continue promoting a safe learning environment while educating the students socially, academically, and emotionally. He feels the partnership between school and home is the key to the successes for our children in the community.

Mr. Wrzesinski comes to Palos South with a strong commitment to education and the students he serves. He and his wife have three children, and reside in the southwest suburbs of Chicago.

Assistant Principal Mrs. Sarah Leahy began her career in District 118 as a School Social Worker at Palos East in 2003 before moving to Palos South in 2016. During her time at Palos South, Mrs. Leahy has facilitated a number of clubs and activities to promote social emotional development and school safety, including Snowflake, SAVE Promise Club, and Diversity Club.

Mrs. Leahy received her bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology and Sociology from Carthage College in Kenosha, WI. She holds a masters degree in Social Work from the University of Illinois-Chicago and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the University of St. Francis.

Mrs. Leahy looks forward to supporting Palos South families and promoting our school as a safe learning environment where all students feel connected to one another. She believes that the home school connection is important for students to achieve success.

Outside of school, Mrs. Leahy enjoys spending time traveling and attending sporting events with her husband and two teenage daughters.
